Music Ranking Rules
Intro
Music Ranking is designed to be simple.
Artists submit music, place promotional bids and rank according to how much they have paid.
These rules explain how the leaderboard works.
1. Ranking Is Based On Promotional Bid
Positions are determined by the total amount paid toward a music submission.
A higher total bid receives a higher position.
Example:
- £50 ranks above £30
- £30 ranks above £10
- £10 ranks above £1
Music Ranking does not manually move artists higher because we prefer their music.
2. Public Bidding Starts At £1
The minimum promotional bid at launch is £1.
Music Ranking may change the minimum bid in the future.
The current minimum will always be shown before payment.
3. Equal Bids
If two tracks have the same total promotional bid, the track that reached that amount first keeps the higher position.
4. Increasing Your Bid
An artist already listed on Music Ranking can increase their total promotional bid.
You only pay the difference.
Example:
Your existing total bid is £15.
You increase your total bid to £25.
You pay an additional £10.
Your new ranking is calculated using the £25 total.
5. Founding Artists
Music Ranking may include up to 30 invited Founding Artists.
Founding Artists receive:
- one free approved placement
- £0 starting promotional value
- a Founding Artist badge
Any genuine paid promotional bid ranks above a £0 founding placement.
Founding Artists receive no permanent ranking advantage.
Once a Founding Artist starts bidding, normal ranking rules apply.
6. One Genuine Submission
Submit music that you own, represent, or have permission to promote.
Do not submit another artist's music without permission.
7. Music Only
Music Ranking is for music releases and music-related submissions accepted by the platform.
Non-music websites, unrelated products, spam and misleading submissions may be removed.
8. Prohibited Content
Music Ranking may reject, suspend or remove submissions containing or linking to:
- illegal content
- malicious software
- scams
- fraudulent services
- deceptive redirects
- hate content
- clearly abusive content
- prohibited adult material
- impersonation
- copyright-infringing material
- content that creates significant safety or legal risk
9. No Guaranteed Results
Buying a promotional position does not guarantee:
- streams
- playlist placement
- followers
- reviews
- press coverage
- sales
- fan growth
- positive listener response
You are paying for promotional placement on Music Ranking.
10. Not An Editorial Chart
The leaderboard reflects promotional spending.
It does not represent Music Ranking's opinion of which song is best.
Paid promotional ranking. Not an editorial chart.
11. Listener Metrics
Music Ranking may display information including:
- preview plays
- full-track clicks
- shares
- current rank
- peak rank
These metrics are provided for informational purposes and may include filtering to reduce obvious automated or fraudulent activity.
12. Manipulation
Attempts to artificially manipulate:
- plays
- clicks
- traffic
- submissions
- accounts
- payment systems
may result in removal or suspension.
13. Payments
A successful payment updates an artist's promotional bid once the transaction has been confirmed.
Failed, reversed or fraudulent payments do not count toward ranking.
14. Removal
Music Ranking reserves the right to remove or suspend listings that breach these rules, applicable law, payment requirements or platform safety standards.
Where appropriate, refunds will be handled according to the Terms.
15. Changes
Music Ranking may update these rules as the platform develops.
The current version displayed on this page applies to current use of the platform.
